An original pen and ink illustration (11.5 x 15.5cm) mounted onto cream card with a dark red mount (22.5 x 30.5), handpainted with watercolours and featuring a little beetle creature with fabulous antlers clutching a basket of letters and peering at us over his shoulder; with one letter in hand and long pointed orange shoes, his spotted scarf trails over his shoulder to morph into the artist’s signature, contained within an old scroll to the bottom right hand corner; painted with a pale yellow wash background; fine.
This charming illustration is a development drawing of one of the characters found in ‘Here Follows a Collection of Little People Common to the Natural Forest’, published in 2018.
